Lazuli are currently the hot insider’s tip on the music scene. Once seen and heard, this incredible musical melting-pot is never forgotten! So unlike anything that’s gone before, the music blends elements of progressive rock, chanson, folk and world music with sublime sounds and awesomely dynamic percussion. There aren’t enough pigeon-holes in the world to contain the music of Lazuli! Although comparisons are fruitless for their utterly eclectic music, the description of "King Crimson meets Peter Gabriel" may give a rough approximation of this very special band.
The five-piece makes use of a unusually broad range of instruments. Marimba and vibraphone are rarely found on rock stages – but here they are; and unusual as they may be, they’re outdone by the Léode, a weird and wonderful stringed instrument invented by Lazuli themselves and the only one of its kind in existence. The unique, edgy and almost experimental feel of the band’s sound is superbly enhanced by this exotic musical cosmos.
It can only be a matter of time before Lazuli carve out a stellar status for themselves among discerning listeners. Their concerts to date in Germany, Poland, the UK, Switzerland and France have left audiences awestruck – and wild with enthusiasm! Critics fell over themselves to praise the band.
Lazuli is a band for bold, brave people with a healthy urge to explore the unknown. Take the plunge and discover this inspirational music – and you’ll find your courage and curiosity rewarded a thousandfold.
